Race Day
Are you ready to have a jammin’ good time at the Life’s A Beach Triathlon? Ready to get wet and sandy and a little crazy? Well, here are some basics you should know come race morning.

CHECK-IN/PACKET PICK UP
Packet pick-up begins 90 minutes before the first wave start on race morning.
Some events may offer a Friday night packet pick-up, so see your specific event web page for details.
Your race “packet” is a Life’s A Beach six pack cooler and includes your bib number, safety pins for attaching your number, a killer t-shirt and whatever goodies we can squeeze out of our sponsors!

WHAT TO BRING TO PACKET PICK-UP
A valid photo ID

WHEN TO ROLL INTO THE CHECK-IN AREA
We recommend getting to the venue at least 90 minutes prior to the start of the first wave (check your specific event for start times)
IMPORTANT: all participants must have checked in prior to the first wave start.
IMPORTANT: all participants must have staged their bike and running gear in the transition area prior to the first wave start.
No one will be allowed into the transition area after the first wave has started except for racers who are on the course.

OTHER THINGS TO BRING
Spending money for cool Life’s A Beach gear, more food and more drink.
Your kids! We’ll have a free Hatchling Dash Run for all kids 9 and under (with a signed parental release form) after the last Life’s A Beach racer crosses the line.
Whatever you’ll need to spend the rest of the day enjoying the beautiful beach we’ve chosen for your Life’s A Beach Triathlon.

PARKING
Parking options will be specific to your race location - check the specific event page for details.
Some venues may have great parking; other beach areas have minimal or scattered parking. We’ll do our best to inform you of multiple options.
Be prepared to ride your bike with your gear (a small backpack should suffice) from your parking to the check-in area (wear your helmet please).
In many cases, staying overnight at the host hotel may provide your most convenient parking options.

BIBS AND CHIPS AND SALSA
Race number bibs will be in your packets. They are to be attached to you so that race officials can see them on your front.
You may use race belts for your numbers.
Follow the direction of race staff for proper attachment of timing chips to your person.
Both chips and number bibs must be worn the entire race.
Salsa?

SUSTENANCE
We’ll have at least one aid station with water and sports drink/juice on the run and one as you enter the transition area (check with your specific event) from the swim.
We highly recommend you have a drink bottle with you on the bike.
Water and light snacks will be available for participants at the finish line.
After the race, participants that are of legal age and with proper photo ID will be given one beer.
Additional food and drinks will be available for purchase at all Life’s A Beach Triathlons.

RACE START
Please arrive at the starting line 10 minutes before your wave start.
You will be given any last minute instructions.
You’ll be stoked to get started!

BIKE RETRIEVAL
Race staff will decide when to allow racers who are finished to start retrieving their bicycles - PLEASE BE PATIENT.
When we do start letting you retrieve your bikes, please be respectful of others who may still be racing and be mindful of following our security directions for checking your bike out of the transition area.
Do not remove the race number from your bike until after you have exited the transition area after the race.
Race staff/security will match the number on your wrist band or bib number to the number on your bike as you exit the transition area.
Again, please be patient - enjoy the music, the beer and the beach.

RACE PHOTOS
Race photographers will be on various parts of the course. Check your specific race web page for information on the photographer working your event.
Please post your crazy Life’s A Beach Triathlon photos and videos to our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/LifesABeachTriathlon .

BODACIOUS BEACH BASH
Our live music will get revved up at 10am to start the party.
Cheer on the last finishers of the day, watch the kids’ Hatchling Dash Run and stomp out some crazy dancing in the sand!

Our awards ceremony will take place an hour after the last finisher does the limbo across the line.
While we want everyone to have a time they tell stories about, we also want you to get home or back to your hotel rooms safely: please drink responsibly and please do not drink and drive.
