EVENT CANCELLED: Due to the widespread impacts of Hurricane Irma we felt it to be respectful and prudent to cancel our 2017 Life's A Beach Triathlon Sarasota. All 2017 entries will be deferred to our 2018 Sarasota event--to take place at the same location on September 15, 2018. If you have questions, please email us at info@lifesabeachtriathlon.com.
We apologize for the late posting on our website as we just now were able to gain access. We posted this past Monday on our Facebook pages and on Twitter. We also sent an email to all registered racers (with only a handful of bouncebacks).

So, wear your grass skirts and bikinis, board shorts and Hawaiian shirts, load up your friends and family and join us on the beach for some swimming, biking and running!

BACK FOR 2017: 8AM LIFE'S A BEACH EXTREME STARTING WAVE
Our 8am wave will again be a more challenging version of Life's A Beach Triathlon. Participants will do double the distance and be faced with some other (we'll be improving these) unique beach-oriented challenges. This wave will cost a little more, but participants will get an even more unique race shirt and finisher's medal.
Sarasota is not just a great place for Life’s A Beach—spend the weekend sampling what the area has to offer. Stay on Lido Key and you’ll not only be able to roll out of bed and race, but you’ll be close to the shops, cafes and restaurants of St. Armand’s Circle, the world-renowned Mote Marine Laboratory and only minutes from downtown Sarasota.

Bikes for the Sarasota Event
The bike course for our Sarasota event is a mix of paved roads, wide, flat and hard-packed woods roads/trails and just a bit of soft sand. We highly recommend a bike with a wider tire--like a beach cruiser or mountain bike.
While most people provide their own bike (and helmet) for the event, we do have a local bike rental company that has beach cruiser bikes that are suitable. They also deliver the bikes right to the main event area on Lido Key. Be sure to let them know if you also need to rent a helmet—helmets are required in Life’s A Beach Triathlon.

Life’s A Beach Triathlon Sarasota Gives Back
LAB Triathlon is donating $1 per paid entry to the Mote Sea Turtle Patrol.
Mote Marine Laboratory is also a great place to spend time with the
family and another great reason to make your trip to Life’s A Beach Triathlon Sarasota a
weekend adventure!
 We are also working with the Team Tony Foundation. Team Tony is a Sarasota-based cancer support organization that works to pair a cancer survivor with a cancer fighter so those diagnosed with cancer get the support they need. Team Tony provides volunteers for our Sarasota event and we make a donation to the foundation.
